Happy Autumn: Fairy Autumn Fete Poem

Autumn is here officially, as of today. I am so jazzed. So far it has been 70s to 80s and very cold in the mornings. Soon another week will pass, and October will be here. Yes, in october I will be busy with book signings, but that's all right. Just the thought of cooler weather, pumpkins on the front porches, and essence of Halloween everywhere just makes me happy. I am going to post my "Fairy Autumn Fete" poem here today, the one that was on another blog I guest blogged at earlier this month. Please read it, leave comments, and just enjoy it. It is copyrighted and may not be taken off here and posted elsewhere. Just post the link to my blog for friends and relatived to read it.

Fairy Autumn Fete

By

Pamela K. Kinney

Midnight came in a soft whisper,
Stars shining like iridescent candles
And below on the forest green,
The faeries came out of hiding, glittering like lights.

They danced, circling in a sensational array,
Wing tip to wing tip, scattered among leaf-speckled ground
Other denizens of Faerie appeared,
Lords and Ladies dressed in fashions of magic.

From the low bough of a tree, covered in red, gold and orange,
Pan played upon reed pipes
Music; seductive and full of good tidings,
All of Faerie danced in frenzy haste.

Bird songs filled the cold, crisp air,
Wings of many colors swirled in a cloud of feathers
Songs of joy melded with Faerie music,
Rising, swirling, tornado-like, to the full moon above.

The King and Queen of Faerie strutted,
Splendid finery of gold and purple
They sat upon thrones of sparkling jewels and holly,
Beautiful, and terrible at the same time.

Then everyone stopped and the hush grew deafening,
Eyes so inhuman and deadly wonderful
Watched the fingers of dawn paint the sky,
It shimmered; they shimmered, all aglow like Faerie dust
Then like spirits, they vanished.

Twisted Twins Daily Chills Calendar Not Coming Out December 2008

The Daily Chills Calendar will not be out December 2008 as what the editor sent the authors and poets:
Unfortunately The Twisted Twins Daily Chills Calendar has been dropped from it's contracted publishers schedule for this year. My only explanation for this is the one given to me; due to overbooking and fraudulent contracting, all books associated with the previous two marketing directors have been abandoned, 15 in total. That was Blu Phi'er Publishing.
The collection has moved to Crossing Chaos Enigmatic Ink where it will be re-edited, re-named, and then released (more appropriately) in mid 2009. My sincere apologies for the delay and any inconvenience. You will be notified early in 2009 in regards to the new title.
So whenI know more of the new title and when, I will post here, my
WEBSITE and at MYSPACE .

Tonight, Terry Brooks came back to Richmond, Virginia, this time to Fountain Bookstore downtown in Shockoe Slip. Thank you, Kelly, for getting him. Always a pleasure to hear Terry and he read from the book he was working on now that would be out in 2009. In this upcomign novel he is returning to the world of Landover (Magic Kingdom for Sale). After he finished, Kelly led him and his wide down another way while we all piled down another staircase downstairs to the bookstore. We got in line with our bought books and got them signed. I couldn't afford the new book (you can see the cover wirh this blog) but got the one before this: The Elves of Cintra since it was in paperback and i hadn't read this yet.I will try and check it out of the library to read it. Maybe for Christmas I can get a copy?

No, no photos. I forgot my trusty camera. But that's okay. It was a nice evening at Fountain Books and listening to Terry was good enough.

I Will Be Guest Blogger Wednesday, September 3rd at Sherry Morris' Blog

I'll be guest blogging on author Sherry Morris' blog at http://housewifeink.wordpress.com/ on September 3rd. I'll be doing a fantasy poem, "Fairy Autumn Fete." Please check out her blog, leave a comment, and enjoy not only my poem, but check out the rest of Sherry's blog.
Maybe my poem will bring on the coolness of fall sooner and get rid of all the summer humid heat. :-D
