Wintry Bite of the Beast

It’s cold tonight,
Out here
in the snowstorm.
Winter’s bite
puts ice
in my blood
But something else
is with me
It hides among the white,
Full of dark purpose
Full of icy intent
No longer
able to move,
I lay among
the snow drifts
It approaches
My death is
oh so close
I close my eyes
And let the
snow beast
Sink its ice-covered fangs
deep,,,deep
into my soul.
