Yesterday, my husband and I attended Monster Fest 2009 (http://www.monsterfestva.com) at the Chesapeake Central Library in Chesapeake, Virginia. It was held from 9am to 4pm. At 7:30am we arrived to unload the car and decorate my table, setting up the books. At 10am I shared a panel with authors Beth Brown, Deborah Carvelli, Justin Cristelli, and A. B. Wallace titled "Fiction and Nonfiction Paranormal,Why so popular nowadays?" The rest of the day was spent mainly at my table, with once in while walking around the convention. When it was done and we were packed up, Bill and I joined some friends at a nearby Mexican restaurant for dinner and good conversation. By 7:30pm we were on the road for home.
Enjoy the photos above that I took (except one of all of us panelists for the panel). Someone in the audience took that for me.

Do you know yet whether Kyra
Schon will be appearing at this coming October's MonsterFest?
Is there a website I can access for this upcoming event?
Many, many Thanks to You for any info that you
can provide.
Read below at bottom of this post--website, plus you can join the Monster Fest Facebook group too.
Plans are being made for this year's Monster Fest!
Monster Fest 8 will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Chesapeake Central Library on Cedar Road in Chesapeake, VA. Hours are from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Doors will reopen at 7:00 PM for the quadruple horror movie marathon.
We are pleased to announce our charity this year is the Food Bank of South Hampton Roads. Please bring a non-perishable food item and help Monster Fest Scare Away Hunger!
As always, guest, vendor and fan tables are FREE of charge. If you would like to reserve a table, please reply to this message with the number of tables you would like as well as any special request information (electric outlet, wall space etc.). We will try to accommodate all special requests, but we can not guarantee them.
This year in addition to our regular programming, we will be advertising an early trick-or-treating event during Monster Fest. This event was a big hit last year. If you choose to
participate, your name or company will be listed on a card given to each child trick-or-treating. When children come to your table, you will check off their card and give them candy or some other treat you will provide.
All children to turn in a card with all the boxes checked will be given a raffle ticket to possibly win an extra prize. Children will be accompanied by an adult. This trick-or-treating event is designed to get people to your table and drum up some business. It is completely voluntary of course. Please let us know if you plan to participate or not when you reply to reserve a table.
Monster Fest is seeking sponsorship. We can use anything from door prize donations to monetary donations. All of our sponsors are prominently listed on our website as well as in the program. If you are interested in helping to keep Monster Fest a free event, please consider becoming a sponsor. Contact Phyllis Floyd at any of the contacts below for more information.
If you are unable to attend this years event, but would like to send flyers or other promotional items to promote your event, please feel free to send anything you wish distributed to our address at the bottom of this message.
Come help us celebrate classic horror in film and literature. We hope you will be able to attend this year's event!
Sincerely,
Brother Shock and
Rob & Phyllis Floyd
